We wake up fairly early but stay in bed until 8:30. Breakfast in the cockpit. I had thought we would stay and swim,
but the wind is coming up and I fear that mooring will become difficult and too
many other boats will arrive. So
at about 10:30 we set off to the town wall. We manage to get ourselves into a space next to an
electricity and water tower and across from a café with free WIFI. A kind Frenchman in the boat next
door takes our lines and we seem well settled. The only problem is that our passarelle hits the tower
and/or a street lamp. But
eventually we position ourselves adequately.
We rush to the café for an iced coffee and to use their toilet. We look out for Jonnie, to help with
his lines but manage to miss him when he comes in and I find him chatting to R,
who has gone back to the boat.
We are still trying to find somewhere to refill our gas bottle. We try a local supermarket which does
do gas bottles. They have our
size, but we are not sure if they have the same top as ours. They suggest we bring ours in and they
will look. Before lunch we do a
bit of shopping and have a light bite on board.
After lunch it gets very hot again. So we meet up with the Luries at the beach at the end of our
side of the town wall. We have
been warned that it is very stoney, so we take our swimming shoes which work a
treat. The water here is much
cooler and really refreshing.
After a couple of hours at the beach we make a reservation for all of us
for dinner at the taverna whose sun beds and umbrellas we have been using.
Back to the boat, and have a quick shower. Then the Luries come on board for a drink and we make our
way to dinner. Food is OK. I have moussaka, but I am disappointed
because it is very heavy on the potatoes and light on the aubergine. But in all it is a very pleasant
evening and it has been lovely to have company and people to chat to.
